I am very happy with this product and I intend to buy another for my next computer build. It easily outperforms my friends Pentium D 3.73 Ghz dual core processor. This component was part of my first computer build. This Intel product has exceeded my expectations and is wonderful for my gaming rig.
The documentation consists mainly of idiot proof pictures. Right now I'm playing WarHammer at 1920x1280 while downloading the latest WOW patches and writing this review. I put this on a Gigabyte DS3L with 8Gb RAM, XP64, Zotac GTX295. I managed to install it without any problems so the pictures worked :-)I forget what I paid for it but I remember thinking it's a good deal (I got it through Amazon). Warhammer is giving me about 25fps - this is a FAST CPU.Don't forget to buy some thermal grease when you buy this. It's freaking fast. The fan assembly was pleasantly robust and mounted (and unmounts) very easily.
I like AMD also so dont get excited. (p.s. I would highly recommend Intel for everyones needs.
I will be honest and say that for what I use it for, I dont notice a big difference between this processor and my 2.4ghz but my kids will notice a difference between their 1.86 and this 2.4. He did a great job of getting the package to me quickly after it got routed back to him and he gave me a dicount on the sale for the inconvenience.One other thing, this processor went into a machine that I built for a customer. What can I say, this processor is great.
But I found another one for not quite as cheap so that is the one that I got for myself. I just prefer Intel). Happy so far but I have only had it for a few weeks.

Add in the Zalman CPU cooler CNPS9700 with blue LED and you will not go wrong. I bought this CPU to replace an old Pentium 4 Extreme Edition 3.73 single CPU that was constantly overheating. Very happy. Best CPU for the bang for the buck perspective. I'm very, very pleased with this CPU, runs very fast with dual core, and very cool due to 45 nm chipset. This runs on an ASUS P5Q motherboard (great motherboard) and runs very cool and fast.
I couldn't be more satisfied with the bang for the buck. I purchased this and grouped it with a gigabyte EP34-UD3r motherboard, GTX260, and 8gb of corsair dominator DDR2 1066 memory (overclocked a little bit to 1080mhz). I have the E8500 at 4.05ghz easily with a pretty small mini ninja heatsink, and still only hover around 35C idle and 56C at extreme load.
